Coronavirus

Off
Irish Offshore Sailing

Revised Operating Policy as of 18th May 2020

We have implemented a number of measures to make sure that you are safe while sailing with us.

1. We are screening each student by email or calls to make sure no one has symptoms of Covid 19 before coming on the course. Anyone with symptoms will be asked to reschedule.

2. Students and Instructors will have their temperatures checked on arrival using an infrared forehead thermometer to screen for the virus.

3. We have altered our liveaboard policy ensuring that each client has a room to themselves on the yacht for the liveaboard courses, or the course itself may be modified to non-liveaboard to ensure that social distancing is maintained. The integrity of the course content and certification under Irish Sailing and the RYA will be maintained.

4. We have reduced student teacher ratio on the yacht to a max of 4:1 to make the yacht less congested, and a greater ability to keep apart.

5. Time spent below decks will be staggered and kept to a minimum to reduce the possibility of close contact.

6. Hand sanitizer will be freely available at a number of locations onboard during the course and the yachts will be thoroughly disinfected and cleaned between each course.

Covid 19 Terms and Conditions

  1. Any person with bookings which were cancelled as a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic is entitled to credit towards another sailing course or a refund, whichever you prefer. When you’re ready, pick another date of your choice from the courses on the drop down on that course on our site and drop us an email or send us your bank details for a refund.
  2. Any courses booked after the 11th May 2020 for dates for the remainder of 2020 will run as scheduled providing government restrictions on travel are not restricted. If due to the pandemic, travel restrictions are reimposed for the time period of the course, then the course will  be cancelled and you will have the choice of rescheduling or availing of a refund.
  3. If booking from overseas, please be aware of the airline travel restrictions which are in place and the government restrictions on overseas travel in terms of self isolation etc. Our normal booking conditions will be in place unless there is a change in policy from the time of booking to when the course takes place.
  4. Please do not come on a course or sailing trip with us if you have any of the symptoms of Covid 19. Please call us if such an incident should occur.
  5. People over the age of 70, or with any underlying medical conditions which would put them in the “at risk” category should not attend sailing courses with us until the threat of covid 19 has passed. Examples of these are Diabetes, Respitory Illnesses etc. Students should consult their GPs before making a booking if they are in any doubt.
