Full Terms and Conditions

Practical and Classroom based courses with Irish Offshore Sailing

Booking Conditions:

  1. Deposit: Irish Offshore Sailing do not have a deposit system in place. A place on a course is only kept if it is accompanied by the payment in full at the time of booking. However this is fully refundable up to 30 days prior to the start date of the course, with no admin fee. For the 14 week professional yachtmaster course 60 days notice must be given.
  2. Cancellation: Any course can be cancelled with a full refund up to 30 days prior to the start of the course. After this date a refund or credit value is provided only if Irish Offshore Sailing manages to fill your place on the course by somebody else. (60 days notice must be given for the Pro Yachtmaster Course)
  3. Cancellation by IOS: In exceptional circumstances a course is cancelled by IOS, due to extreme weather, damage to the vessel, or insufficient demand. If a course is cancelled by Irish Offshore Sailing, an alternative date will be arranged or full course fee will be refunded whichever you prefer
  1. Late Booking: All bookings must be paid for in advance of the start date of the course, no payments can be made on the day of the course.
  2. No Show: Any person/s who does not attend course/s booked will not be entitled to a refund
  3. Incomplete sessions: Sessions that are not completed by choice or non-attendance by a client will not be refunded.

Voucher Terms and Conditions

1. The voucher is refundable, but only within 14 days of purchasing the voucher.

2. The voucher is valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. However the number of courses run in the winter months are limited, it is the responsibility of the voucher holder to ensure that a course is booked in ample time in order for a place on a course to be available before the end of the validity of the voucher. The validity of the voucher cannot be extended as a result of late booking by a voucher holder.

3. The voucher can be used in conjunction with any of our courses, however we are unable to provide a refund for the remaining value of the voucher even if the value of the course is less than the value of the voucher. In this instance, a credit note to the remaining value of the voucher is provided.

4. Once the voucher holder chooses to redeem the voucher for a particular course, he or she must fill out a booking form and adhere to the terms and conditions of the course booking. Most notably that changes can be made to a booking (i.e for another date) up to 30 days prior to the start date of the course. Within 30 days of the start date of the course it is only possible to change a date if Irish Offshore Sailing succeed in selling that place or chartering the yacht to another customer. The closer to the start date of the course, the more difficult it is for Irish Offshore Sailing to fill the place and allow a date change.

5. No shows on a booking result in the booking being forfeit.

Day  Sailing Trip Terms and Conditions

  1. No booking is secured without a minimum of a 50% deposit.

  1. Dates booked can be modified or cancelled with full refund up to 30 days before the start date of the trip. After this time, the date cannot be modified and it is no longer possible to obtain a refund.
  2. In exceptional circumstances IOS may postpone or cancel a booking due to excessive wind. This occurs when wind in excess of 26 knots is anticipated by the skipper for the duration of the sailing trip. If this is likely, the skipper will make the call the night before the sailing and will work with the contact to achieve a solution, either by postponing or cancelling. In the event of cancellation a full refund will be provided.
  3. Bookings are not cancelled due to precipitation. High quality waterproof clothing are provided on all our vessels and are available to our clients to use at any time during the sailing trip.
  4. All bookings must be paid in full 7 days prior to the start date of the sailing. Failure to pay the balance may result in the loss of the booking and deposit forfeit.
  5. No shows on a booking result in the booking being forfeit.
  6. While exceptionally unusual, Irish Offshore Sailing reserve the right to cancel the booking at any time due to unforseen circumstances which could make sailing unsafe. No claims shall be made against Irish Offshore Sailing for cancelling any booking.
